Book Heaven

Some new shelving chez Pinkerton - a paean to all forms of communication nearing obsolescence but who cares! Made to measure for the speakers, CDs, records, DVDs etc. And then there's the books. Perfectly sized shelves for the late 80s Picadors, the Penguin paperbacks, the over-sized atlases and the Oxford Companions to literature. And the best bit - the pull out turntable shelf. Heaven.

Dunbar Jewellery Box

Jan Dunbar has a lifetime's worth of unique and beautiful jewellery, a daughter and a daughter-in-law. Intending to divide her jewellery between both in her estate, she commissioned Pinkerton to create two jewellery boxes (so she could pass one onto each), but which could also exist as a whole in the meantime. The solution was to create two identical boxes which can sit one atop the other or be divided for separate use. Both feature a dot motif inlay.

Using Huon Pine and American Ash, with various timbers used for the inlay, the boxes are finished in Danish Oil and each drawer has a felt bottom.

Kitchen Capers

After living with open Ikea Ivar shelves as our pantry for two years, chez Pinkerton now has some brand spanking new kitchen cupboards. Featuring Tasmanian Oak and Tasmanian Myrtle, the tall, slimline cupboard also uses sandblasted persex sliding doors in some sections to break up the wood and give an overall lighter presence.
